Guanabara Bay (Rio de Janeiro), Lagoa Rodrigues de Freitas and Barra Bay/Lake have been heavily polluted due to untreated human sewage entering the water ways. Today’s condition is very serious; toxicity levels are killing the fish and aquatic life. People who enter the water are getting sick from viral infectious organisms including flesh attacking germs. These water bodies are the focus of the 2016 summer Olympics. Participants in the Olympics and others wanting to view the events are seriously concerned for their own health and safety. Alpine Technical Services (ATS) specializes in water treatment and water ways solutions with innovative products and methods. To solve Rio’s water ways problems ATS has assembled an all-star team with the know-how and ability to execute a comprehensive plan to improve water in Rio’s predominant 3 bays (Guanabara, Lagoa Rodrigues de Freitas, and Barra) and the rivers that feed them, not only for the Olympics but over a four-year period.
